New eWorks digital platform will simplify suitability assessments for CWMF

06 July, 2026

The Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, Jack Chambers TD, today announced the launch of the first phase of eWorks.

eWorks is the digital platform built for the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF). The first module for eWorks is the digitalisation of the Suitability Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) and related documents.

Digitalisation of the SAQ process will greatly reduce the workload associated with the procurement of works contractors and works-related service providers for contracting authorities engaged in the delivery of capital works projects.

The SAQ is used to assess whether applicants have the financial standing, technical capacity and statutory capability required to participate in public works competitions.

The move to a structured digital workflow is expected to reduce duplication, improve consistency and make it easier for applicants to reuse information and supporting evidence across competitions.

Launching the platform, the Minister said:

“I am delighted to announce the launch of the eWorks Platform. This digital platform will reduce the potential for poor quality works and works-related services procurement. eWorks is an important step in making public works procurement simpler, more consistent and more efficient. By digitalising the Suitability Assessment Questionnaire, we are reducing repetitive administration for public bodies and industry while supporting better data and more modern procurement processes.”

eWorks will be available at https://eworks.gov.ie and from the CWMF website. Word document versions of SAQs will remain available during a one-year period to support transition, after which all SAQs will be managed through eWorks.

The rollout is supported by online tutorials and practical guidance on the eWorks platform.
